International Festival of Puppet Theatres “Aitvaras“

Alytus Puppet Theatre “Aitvaras” organizes the international festival and competition of puppet theatres from 1999. The festival is the only of its kind in Lithuania. The programme of the festival covers creative innovations, trends and achievements in puppetry in the hosting and guest countries. The festival is open to both professional, and private puppet theatres. The organizers put together the programme by taking into account the professional level of a theatre, its originality and versatility of puppetry techniques. In the framework of the festival, educational programmes for children and puppeteers are offered.
